About
The Publican of Philadelphia is a small independant Catholic publication rooted into the greater Philadelphia area.

The Publican will address a whole range of issues, the limits of possible topics are the limits of reality. Some of these topics being: literature, philosophy, beer, lost arts like napping, politics, economics, saints and sinner through the ages.

The Publican will be published four times a year. We seek to publish local authors in an effort to contribute to a greater sense of place and rootedness.

Our Name
The name of The Publican of Philadelphia is derived from Jesus' parable of the Pharissee and the publican, or tax-collector (Luke 18: 9-17).

It is our hope to pursue and convey the truth in imitation of the publican; and like the publican to admit failure in a spirit of honesty and deference.
